BARMM, 4 September 2019 – Dr. Sherjan Kalim, President of Association of CRMC Muslim Employees (ACME), visits The Mufti of Bangsamoro, Abuhuraira Udasan, at Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta’ Office today to exchange opinions on how to implement the Ibadah-Friendly Hospital as part of the moral governance in BARMM.
Ideally, hospitals should hire Muslim religious workers (like aliym and aliyma) to guide the Muslim patients how to perform ibadah (worship) even at hospital setting.
For example, how do the patients perform ablutions and prayers in spite of intravenous fluids (IVF) hooked on them.
Also, the religious workers will take care of washing the dead patients and wrapping in accordance to Islamic rites at the morgue.
Likewise, the hospital kitchens and dietary services must be halal certified to ensure that the foods and beverages served are compliant with healthful halal (halalan tayyib).
