“Faith-Based Leaders Assessment and Planning Meeting Promoting Peaceful Engagement and Building Resilience to Violence in the midst of Covid-19”.

BARMM, 08 JULY 2020 – Alhamdulillah! Despite of Covid-19 outbreak, the employees of Regional Darul-Ifta’ BARMM, Ustadz Hassanor M. Alapa, Ustadz Montaser M. Paki and Mohammad Taib Pangca were able to participate in a two-day-virtual patch up via Zoom platform of UNDP at Seda hotel, Cagayan de Oro City, which finished successfully yesterday July 7, 2020 at 12 noon under the theme: “Faith-Based Leaders Assessment and Planning Meeting Promoting Peaceful Engagement and Building Resilience to Violence in the midst of Covid-19”. During two days of virtual meeting, they were discussing three main points:

1. Coordination between Regional Darul-Ifta and different Ulama organizations in BARMM.

2. Rido conflict problem in BARMM, challenges on resolving local conflicts, ideas, recommendations and proposed plans for settlement.

3. Countering violent extremism and terrorism and the necessity of understanding the true concept of Jihad that differs from terrorism in relation to the newly approved bill “Anti-Terrorism Law”.
