BARMM, 10 July 2019 – The Mufti of Bangsamoro joins the celebration of BARMM Nutrition Month at Simuay Junction Elementary School, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.
In his speech, he mentioned some verses of the Glorious Qur’an related to health and nutrition.
One of the verses he emphasised was related to choosing foods and beverages.
“In the Glorious Qur’an, Allah said: “O mankind! Eat only halal (lawful) good,”” The Mufti quoted.
“Meaning, there are foods or beverages that are halal but not good for your health and nutrition. For example, shrimp is halal but if you are allergic to it then it is not good for your health. It is even detrimental to your health! Another example is soft-drinks. If you are diabetic then soft-drinks are not nutritious for you.” The Mufti explained.
